Again, I already said that insurance companies need to be looked and held responsible, but that those not mean we should eliminate them entirely. Think about the many people that work at them.

You know they can still work as employees for the government right?

Think about the many people who work at companies that decide if people can get the health care they need or not due to profit. Jobs can be created in other ways.

If it we're possible to replace all of my organic parts with technology, I'd do it in a instant.

What if those employees did not want to work for the government? Also, you would have to raise taxes again to pay for their jobs.

I would gladly accept having to pay a little more taxes if it meant I got healthcare (which btw my parents dont have). And if you have a choice between working for the government and being unemployed which would you choose?

I don't see how this an argument, are you implying that working for one bureaucratic super-structure is somehow different then working for another bureaucratic super-structure?

lol you have no idea how freaking expensive it is.
Basic mandatory health care (provided by state if unable to purchase) costs 180 SFr (198USD) a Month for a young healthy adult, this is absolute basic health care, it does not cover everything and if you have to go to the hospital you share your room with 7 other people. In basic cover, insurances have to take you it is required by law, but if you want anykind of better insurance you have to uprgade, in this case I can tell you without having anything fancy you pay arround 350 SFr/month. It is too complicated to sum it up in a forum post, but in summary i can say our Healthcare system is good but expensive, but for it's nature i could actualy see it working in the us. But to the swiss system there is one thing really important, price controle through parliament, Insurances can't just rais the cost, the parliament has to vote if they can or can't and i don't think this will pass in the us (evil communism etc.). You can't make mandatory healthcare without cost control.

Edit: just to clarify I currently pay 412 SFr./Month. This is upper middle-tier insurance. I have no girlfriend/wife/kids so i can afford it. But if i had to pay for an entire family that would bring the cost up to arround 1000SFr/Month, ofcourse i would have to downgrade. This just to give you an idea of the cost in my country.

They can go see a witch doctor for all I care, people aren't born with the right to healthcare, especially at the expense of others.

And you still haven't answered my question. What would happen to me if I decided not to pay my taxes, because I didn't support what they went to?

You're right, some people are born into shitty places where they will get no education and have very little hope for a future, so no not everyone is going to be born with the ABILITY to get good health care much less a right.

This society will never give everyone an equal chance, so don't tell me we should just let them die for that.

    I find this appropriate. LOOOOL

I understand all that. As a matter of fact, I can't think of a single person who doesn't understand all of that. But taxes, especially more taxes, are a very bad thing. If you're going to reform healthcare, then you better reform a lot of other things as well.
