First, let me start off by saying I am not trying to bad mouth the forums in any way shape or form.

It seems to me like the forums are not as interesting as they used to be. I mean don't get me wrong here, the forums are still a hell of a lot more interesting than ordinary life, but they seemed to be so much better back around the first few months of its existence. I feel like I can predict just about every historical, philosophical, and political thread that is made now, mostly because it is usually redundant. Although I am in no way advocating for the return of Che, I miss the controversy and action he stirred up on the forums. You never knew what Che was gonna say next, and that made it all the more interesting.

Also, I liked the many heated debates on the US and Israel, where just about everybody on the forums played some small part in. The forums seemed to be in their heyday, back in a time where every thread was not a thread that turned into commies bashing heads with Kali and Matt, a time where the forums were not just split into commies vs capitalists. I used to come onto the forums and there would always be some new and heated discussion that had not been mentioned before that was very interesting and exhilerating. Now its just communism vs capitalism threads with the occassional random radical coming on and making a stir for a couple days. Nowadays, it seems like every thread just gets repeated.

*Sigh* It sucks being here from the outset of the forums. Hopefully I am wrong, and the forums get back to where they were when they were in their heyday. I just want to say again, I am not trying to badmouth the forums. I will still come on here daily, and still remain active, but I'm just trying to get this off my chest, because its been on my mind for awhile. The forums will always be an interesting place, but I fear that our best days are behind us.

So what do you guys think.

I understand where you are coming from. I find myself posting less and less, as well as those posts consisting of less. I feel less need to supply a well structured and detailed argument, and find that opting for one or two sentences is sufficient for making my point.

Yeah its getting boring. But thats because we have simply discussed a whole lot of things. We need new and more interesting things to talk about. Also, while we may be getting new members, I feel that these members do not really participate in anyway. I mean, look at the Tribune elections. We had what, like MAYBE a 100 voters? There needs to be more things created that includes the new members. And then there are pricks who think just because they've been on for a long time, means their opinion is better than new members. The forums best days are not behind us, but they are not upon us yet either. I voted no, because this forum's best days will be when we have a few thousand people posting regularly, as opposed to a few hundred core members.

I do not think the forums best days are behind us and I believe that drama has hurt the forums recently, however we the staff are working to improve the forum experience. We're just having a bad period but things will get better.

Good old Observer and his blind optimism.

I'd like to direct everyone to the shiny new Science section, It's just waiting to be filled with nonsensical and amusing threads.

You know what's wrong with Skyrim these days?!? EVERYONE's obsessed with death!

Seriously though, over half the active people who were out of puberty left the forums and now we just got a bunch of non sensical moaners.

If you want my politically incorrect opinion.

Its true though, the forums are becoming more immature and less professional. To the point where I no longer where my top hat and monocle when opening the forums.

Well, the Forum's best days so far are behind us. But one of the things I promised you all and plan on encouraging is the revitalizing of the community. Which starts with the NKVD. For example Sly, you are organizing a Rome: Total War Tournament (which I would totally join if I had an operable gaming pc), and that's fucking great. That's what we're (supposed to be) all about. Gaming. So just keep on doing what you're doing with that. No, do it more. Do it bigger. When you're playing games, advertise our clan (but not like a bitch) to outsiders, post kickass videos on youtube of our gaming exploits. Organize more events, and advertise them to anbody and everybody. In order for the community to grow and become what it was meant to be, we can't rely on Stalin's (awesome) LPs anymore. We need to do stuff. Everybody needs to do stuff. Don't just wait for it.

So I encourage you all to follow in the footsteps of those that have taken action and help to support this community and allow it to grow even bigger, with even more activity.

This reminds me, alot of you might be members of other gaming forums, for specific games and the such. We should create nkvd signatures to advertise on said forums. Just a thought I had. It's little stuff like that that could help a lot.

Actually the forum never had any good days. I mean do you mean earlier when we had a massive struggle against Kali? Before that when the Game Nights came to a sudden end? Or maybe before that during the Che days when we had death threats and strife plenty. Or perhaps even before that when we were starting to realize how much we disliked each other but were bonded together by video games and Stalin.

Despite the fact that we've lost some notable members along the year(s) I do not believe forums are in decline overall. Actually I find myself posting now more than ever. You should also give a break to all the new members we have here.

I think the forums went through a shaky time, but that we have emerged better. The best days of the forums are not right now and haven't been for a while, but I absolutely don't believe that that time was the best time these forums will ever see.

So now that things sort of calmed down a bit, you instantly make a thread on how it's becoming boring and someone needs to stir shit up again?

I mean, I like (heated) debates and discussions too, and yes, to some extent there's a lot more people acting immature for whatever reason, but in the end, I'm sure it'll be fine.

Also, I wish we were back in a time when nobody cared about the mods being 100% correct, and people cherished everything that was on this forum and realized that they are lucky it exists at all. Now it seems like every memeber (including me at times) feels like they should be able to change every little thing they want to their liking. I liked it better when this forum couldnt care less about how mods went along doing their thing and just treated them like ordinary members.
