I would like to join, but my computer can barely handle it. It's an old laptop and the game freezes sometimes. I don't know if it is the internet connection or the laptop, but until I get a new computer, I won't be playing as much.
Try turning down the graphic settings. The problem is that the area is so vast. Look at Minecraft. One of the other players on Wurm [in our group] said that he can play Crisis 2 at max graphics settings with little to no problems, but games like Wurm or Minecraft have lag. This is probably because that the computer has to factor in all of the terrain and the changes made to it. I turned down the graphics ALOT and I still have some lag in the open areas. Its nothing unusual.
One of the reasons Minecraft is so laggy is its incredibly ineffective coding, if I'm correct. The world being absolutely massive doesn't help indeed. I get small lagspikes myself when playing Wurm (which I should get into for real some time), but nothing major.
Went to the Whitelight and converted to Fo and found a "free" rowboat right by it and I'm now attempting to bring it home. Will probably be around 1-2 hours of dragging/rowing.
That reminds me... Didn't they technically lose our good boat on that terribly ill-fated expedition to Ler's old village?
Just so everyone knows my ingame name is Falmer (chose the name before they were announced to be on Skyrim and imagined the "snow elves" to be a lot different.
But how did you get the boat back? Which also reminds me of two questions: Who as piloting the boat if none of you were premium players? and Where were you today? Why weren't you on?
I want to join this, where is the new village? EDIT: never mind, i found it on the map. my username is Agiantrobot.
You found it on the map?! Even I, who have contributed to building half the village, don't know where it is on the map! Oh, and you will have to PM Ler to get him online to let you into the village. He is the mayor. Mind you, do it AFTER you complete the tutorial [which you will need].
Do you happen to know where the spawn point is on chaos? I'm going through the tutorial now, and I may need that information, once I get there.
The spawn point is called The Hunting Lodge (something like that) but kill yourself and spawn at gold coast its closer to the village.
There will be signs at the end of the tutorial to the various servers. Pick Freedom from the Chaos server. You should start somewhere near a place called Hunter's Lodge. At least, that is where I spawned. Actually, you chose a pretty terrible time to be doing this. If you had done it over the weekend or at least at the end of the week, someone in the village could have pointed you the the village. To get to the village: When you spawn in the world, type into the box at the bottom left "/suicide" [not the quotations though] and that should open up a list of settlements that you can teleport to. Note that this usually does something to your skill level gains, but as a freshly minted player, I doubt that the affect will be that bad. You can TRY to walk to the village, but I doubt that you will EVER make it there. I don't even know where the village is in reference to Hunter's Lodge. Ler and Kara came to me and helped me to the village through the fast transport system when I got ingame. And you will need Ler to get accepted into the village [officially]. Also, you might want to turn down the graphics so that the game runs smoothly.
Alright, I tried walking to the village, but I died a million times, so i quit trying. Hopefully tomorrow i can get to the village.
Without toggling lawfulness I got to attack Insanitycomplex I assumed that this is what Ler wanted and so I chased him around the village and had a swordfight with him I injured him pretty bad but he logged off before I could successfully kill him.
Thanks to Omandel now every time I enter the village the Spirit templars attack me. I'm very unhappy about this I hope Ler can do something to fix that.
