Anglo- Zanzibar war lasted only 38 minutes
Zanzibar lost roughly 500 men & British had a 1 man wounded

In 1949 Stalin constructed a city above the water, 6 hours to nearest shore, 2000 oil rigs and 300km of bridges. Now days there are 2 500 people living there and it is being re constructed thanks to the oil money.

Despite popular belief Stg 44 was not a first assault rifle. First assault rifle was Federov Avtomat designed in 1915 by (can you guess it?) Russian.

USA had a plan to nuke the moon so it would boost the morale of American citizens, because us was behind in the space race, at the time.

The first sub-machine gun was not the German MP18 but the Italian Villar-Perosa made in 1915.

"The first weapon which can be considered to some extent as the world's first submachine gun was the Italian Villar-Perosa, which was a twin-barreled automatic weapon that fired 9mm Glisenti pistol ammunition from top-mounted box magazines. It was compact, but its primary tactical role was of short-range machine gun; therefore it was usually fired from some sort of mount, and fitted with machine-gun type spade grips instead of more conventional rifle-type stock."

the fedorov avtomat is actually a battle rifle not an assault rifle.
it is considered by some as an assault rifle, but one of characteristics to be considered an assault rifle
is that It must have an intermediate-power cartridge: more power than a pistol but less than a standard rifle or battle rifle.

the first full auto battle rifle was the mexican mondragon rifle.
the mondragon started production in 1887 and it had a mag capacity from 8 round box mag to 100 round drum.

The Ribeyrolle 1918 automatic carbine may be the first weapon fitting the definition of an assault rifle (including select fire and portability) to use a purpose-designed intermediate round.

One of the youngest people to serve with the United States armed forces was 12 year old Calvin Graham, who enlisted after the attack on Pearl Harbour and was injured during the naval battle at Guadalcanal, but was awarded the Bronze star and the Purple heart. But then his mother revealed his age and he was dishonorably discharged.

But at age 17 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and 3 years later he was discharged after he fell of a pier and broke his back.
