No not you specifically because I never accused YOU specifically of making those insults. Probably 90% of my examples would come from Toast and Link. But, right now I'm exhausted and do not feel like searching the forums for what noone has denied happened, they just say it shouldn't be ruled against.

I was banned for the last week for some reason. I never got a PM or the chance to appeal, but whatever. The Mods don't even follow their own rules, but god forbid I insult someone.

I'll look into the fact you didn't have a PM, I've done that once before because I thought the new system automatically sent a notification of the reason, but I didn't handle your ban. Though if you were concerned you could have messaged a mod to appeal. Since you didn't you have no basis of which to complain on that account.

No, the timing of my complaint does not fix the mod's mistake. I don't know how you could possibly think that. Not to mention, I am unable to PM while banned, and disregarding the fact that I could have contacted a mod, you cannot reasonably assume that members have the ability to contact a moderator using a form of communication outside of the forums.

You have my skype, for a start. As I said the system is not as straightforward as perhaps it could be. There are plenty of ways users have to contact moderators. Stalin's email for a start is well publicised. Though perhaps it wouldn't hurt to have a central thread dedicated to the issue. Again, if you were confused about your ban, you have tools available & your choice not to use them is your own folly.

My ban is not the issue. Yes, the rules in place are due to constant oversensitive whining, but I am sure I have broken a very high number of rules, and I can assume it is enough to warrant a ban with the current set of rules. My complaint is with the way the ban was carried out, without informing me through the proper channel, and then expecting me to go out of my way to learn the information that was supposed to be a given, as well as denying me the chance to appeal my rule violation.

Blaming him for making no effort to appeal, yes. It's not my fault he chose not to contact me or anyone else after all.
He didn't ask why he was banned & therefore I didn't answer, I was too busy addressing what he actually said.

He was banned for multiple breaches of the insult rule.

There is an obviously clear limitation of the fact that banning makes you unable to see your private messages & send them. It is definitely an issue that can be looked into & if you have suggestions please post a message in the PA.

Link, you have the vast majority of the Staff contact details, if you chose not to take advantage of such a fact you have no one to blame than yourself for not appealing.

It's made worse by your attitude afterwards. Instead of addressing the problem, you immediately shift into damage control mode and blame the problem that is clearly caused by the moderating staff on the user. It is completely unreasonable for you to expect a user to do your job for you, especially concerning his own banning. Yes, in my case, I can message a member of the staff on skype, etc., but not all members can do this. Some members, in my position, would just be fucked with not way of contacting any of you.

There is a clear issue with the fact that being banned limits your ability not only to contact the staff, but also for the staff to contact you. This is definitely a fair point & one worth looking into. In your case however, this doesn't apply.

The second problem is that the moderator that awarded your ban didn't send you a message, the reason for this is because the system you would assume would send a message automatically but does not, the moderator awarding the ban was obviously not aware of this because we don't hand out that many warnings. So a bit of education is perhaps in order. We will obviously look into the way bans are handled.

I'm not just going to sit here and agree with you, when I simply don't. As I said the fact that you made no effort to contact the mods says more than enough about your attitude towards this ban. There is no official banning protocal which is an issue that will now be addressed. I can't be fairer than that.
