    For me its Julius Caesar: Briliant politician, Great military commander, and saved the republic from Oligarch scum

    FDR wasn't really violent. Like I said though, it's all the metric. Most of the people I admire were more philosopher types not leaders. It's also hard to really have a memorable leader without him responding to some sort of crisis. James Polk was one of the best presidents, but all he really did was accomplish his agenda and not ruin the country, so most Americans don't even know who he is

    Just to loose it all in 3 years and having everything he has done, being destroyed. He is quite a counter productive man I'd say. Effective in building and destroying.
