Ya know it's disappointing, because I can tell this is an intelligent guy, who has done some research and provides some unbiased assessments of things, but then he swings around loaded language and cherrypicks concepts to advance one side. Ad hominem aside, according to Ryan, lowering the tax rates across the board is going to somehow raise revenues? Also characterized the progressive tax system as something Obama is suddenly trying to introduce into the world as if it hasn't been our guiding tax policy for over a hundred years (is also still existent in Ryan's plan for the record, but I guess both side's can't be commies eh?). The assumption that lowering taxes on the rich has been proven false. It's something I believed for a long time, but guess what... The taxes on the rich have been lowered since 01/02 with the Bush tax cuts. What was the result of this? Much higher unemployment, and a larger cost to the the debt then a decade of costly warfare.

Something the video didn't mention was they Ryan's plan to "close tax loopholes" without naming a single loophole to close, only promising that none of them would affect businesses or the wealthy class. I suppose the majority of tax money "squandered" is by the lower class with their access to top notch accounting services who are able to finagle around all their swiss bank accounts to evade paying taxes.

That's exactly how I felt. I was enjoying the video until he started talking about the Obama plan.

    Libertarians confuse me.
Nation needs more money? - Lower taxes
Multi-national corporations corrupting our government, and ruining the world? - Give them unlimited power
Rampant poverty, and millions of unemployed? - Scrap minimum wage, get rid of social benefits
Blatant racism in society, and minorities underrepresented in government? - Scrap civil rights laws
Ineffective government administration?- Create 50 separate departments of defense

That doesn't sound like libertarianism to me.

That is exactly what Libertarians believe. All of those are policies RP has supported, and he isn't even one of the 'Extreme' libertarians. Hell, there are elements to the Libertarian movement that believe slavery, and even child slavery should be legalized. Not to mention that pretty much the whole NWO movement (The guys who believe the free masons control the world), and most of the '9/11 truth' movement are Libertarians, and that Libertarians believe that the USA is a 'Marxist state', and is economically socialist.

Edit: The Libertarian movement in the US also enjoys a lot of support from Neo-Nazi, White nationalist and Confederate-sympathizing type groups.

I stopped at 2:36, because he was a biased asshole. I am sorry, but I just could;t finish watching it. He hardly stated any benefits from Obamacare, and made sarcastic comments about it, and you could tell how biased he was toward the Ryan plan, so I stopped watching because it was silly.

What? I've never heard a single libertarian say they believe in those things. Unless of course you've decided that they just worded their beliefs wrong and it needed to be corrected by a much smarter person than them, you.

Of course you haven't heard the base-level Libertarian supporters talk about it, because most of them have never bothered to look up Libertarian policy. They hear the words 'Legalize Marijuana' and 'Anti-War' and they are immediately sold.

Most of them have never read any political or economic theory, and even if they have, the school on which Libertarianism is based, as Spencer said another thread, is the only economic school of thought not based on empirical evidence, but rather, 'Rational thought ' - In other words, crap they randomly pulled out of their ass and put together in books.

I'd suggest reading up on this a bit yourself, preferably from non-libertarian sources.

I know people will be hesitant to take me seriously when I say this, being a commie and all. But really, Libertarianism is one of the craziest, most paranoid and nut job ideologies to ever have existed on the planet, if not the most.
