Canada has decided to get rid of the penny. I think that this is a good idea. but should we get rid of some other coins like maybe the nickel. I personally think that they should get rid of the nickel and the dime also. because they have no buying power at all so they are pretty much useless. but i would like other peoples opinion on this.

Get rid of everything. Switch to bottle cap currency. It worked in the Fallout games so surely it would work in Canada.

Well personally the penny is useless but the nickel and dime actually have some use. You also have to look at it form a heritage aspect aswell.

Do you really have "Loonies" and "Twonies" or is that just something you called them in the poll?

No it's quite actually what we call our 1$ and 2$ coins. It's called a loonie because there is a loon on it and a twonie because it's worth two dollars.

they have very little use to people have you ever went to a store and paid a bill with nickels and dimes. either way 1 penny costs 1.6 cents to make so it was really inefficient

I have as with tax things usually come to a weird total. Rounding to the nearest quarter will probably also cost some money in the transaction.

If you round down your losing money in the transaction that adds up over time and it`s not just one cent.

What if it's a sale or something and they are selling lots of a particular item that rounds down they would lose a lot of money.
