What do you people think the political, social and economic repurcussions would be should the world be almost void of oil?

Wait, so there is no oil, or just an extreme lack of, like only one country has the last source of oil? If this is not the case, then renewable resources will become king, and those who have the most solar panels, windmills, and dams won't be as badly hurt as third-world countries, or even first-world countries that heavily depend on oil. In such countries, a so-called "Return to the Dark Ages" will occur, with mass anarchy and riots breaking out. But that is just my opinion.

I think we will have invented fusion power before oil runs out and also vehicles will be using hydrogen as fuel in few sort years. There are already cars that use it, but they aren't sold to the masses yet. Top gear made a episode about one BTW

America has enough oil to last 100 years. We are already having alot of progress on clean energy so I by the time we sort of " master " that technology we will have alot of oil left.

The world isn't running out of oil any time soon. What will happen is that we will run out of oil that is easily accessible. For instance, there is a massive abundance of oil under the Pacific Ocean that would probably last the entire Earth for at least another century. Unfortunately, it's so expensive to drill for that oil, that one gallon of gasoline would cost an immense amount.
