So I haven't been active the past couple days because I am in the middle of finals hell. I am mentally and physically exhausted at this point and really shouldn’t be spending the time to write this because I should be studying but I’ll just clear up some issues here.

Toast was banned because he broke the rules on multiple occasions and was given plenty of chances beforehand. It’s not like his warnings were trivial things, they were all insults against fellow users and staff. We operate on a 3 strikes rule, one ban = a week, two bans = a month, three bans = you’re out. I think the 3 strikes you're out system is fair as it allows members to know what rules they're breaking several times so we don't rush to conclusions (because several warnings always follow a ban) and allows us to deal with repeat offenders. This is a lot more leeway than just about any other site gives you.

Believe me I don't like perma banning people. I hate to block people on YouTube or ban them from the site. It's not a fun thing to do, it's something I take seriously but rules are rules and we need to follow them to ensure the forums runs smoothly. We need some sort of ultimate enforcement mechanism to ensure there is a penalty for users who continually break the rules, if there isn’t a user has no real incentive not to. We don’t ever want to start banning people just because we don’t like them or for shits and giggles and that is certainly not what happened here.

When I was faced with the prospect of banning Toast most of the mods asked that it not be a perma ban, but I decided since it was his third ban we needed to follow the rules and issue a perma ban. If I start making decisions based on the perceived popularity of users the system falls apart and the rules must be applied evenly to everyone with no exceptions.

I felt that it wasn’t necessary to announce the fact to avoid drama like this. We were doing so well, people were getting along, interesting debates were still happening on the forums and over the past few days we have had record numbers of posts per day. Perhaps it wasn’t the right move or perhaps it was but that is irrelevant now.

That is all I have to say on the issue I will take any questions but please keep them short. Like I said I am in the middle of finals hell and I have already devoted more time away from my studies to deal with this than I should have.

Once again Stalin shows that he truly does care about this site and have it's best interests in mind, when he takes the time to post this in the middle of everything he's got going on right now. Thank you for giving this statement Stalin.

I'm not complaining, rules are rules. It was the right decision.

Doesn't change the fact that I personally had a fondness for Toast as a member, or that I'm upset over him being gone.

Also before Kara or someone goes off on the three strike system for possibly allowing people who commit minor offenses to be perma banned, we are much more lenient on stuff like double posting.

True, but it's kind of sad he has to re-state the obvious. Anyway, I hope to be watching lots of Stalin-based content once he's done with all his work. Which reminds me, i've got work of my own and have been distracted from it by the forums for the last two hours or so. Who's the idiot now? Oh, it's me. Bugger. Ah well, chim chim cheroo, as we English never say.

Kali was not banned. Napoleon made tons of multi's and toast hated him for that. I doubt toast would go as far as making multi's.

There's a difference between being gone on your own accord and being perma banned. This comparison really doesn't make sense.

No. It would be a multi account and if we caught him we would ban him instantly as we do with all multi accounts. His main account is perma banned, secondary accounts are always immediately and permanently banned unless they have legitimate trouble with their main that does not involve a ban. So he's not allowed back.
