Three Proposals

1.) Add a prefix called "proposal" and remove the "campaign thread" prefix in the PA.

2.) Add a medical subsection to the Science thread. Also, a scientific theories and scientific news subsection.

3.) Move the Science section to the Coffeehouse. This is because I believe Science should be a bit more official than "off topic". Also, this will, in my opinion, make more people visit the Science section and post there. Finally, I mean we already have a section in the Coffeehouse for History, politics, philosophy, and current events. I think philosophy and science are pretty close subjects. And, just my opinion, but science would be just as important of a discussion in a real "coffeehouse" as politics was

I really don't think these proposals could hurt anything or anyone, and it will make the Science section more visited (hopefully).

The Cult of Chives supports this in the most part, but doesn't think the medical sub-forum is necessary.

And the Cult of Chives doesn't think science shouldn't be held so comparable to philosophy.

Medical threads already take up around 1/3 of the threads in the Science forum An astronomy subsection may be good too, but I don't think its that necessary and most of it can go under scientific theories.

I don't understand why science was created in the off-topic section instead of the coffee-house to begin with. I mean, its not very "off topic", and moving it to the coffee house would make posts have to abide by coffeehouse rules which would make the science section a little more structured and seem more professional.

The sub section idea is unnecessary I think though. The reason being, we do not have any subsections for an of the other coffee house sections, so why make one for science?

Well, I believe Science is a bit more easily defined and has clear categories, while history and politics aren't really so easy to split into categories. I think the more organized we can make things, then the more activity we can get. For instance, if someone like me once to go discuss the current outbreak of Ebola in Zaire, then they should be able to go straight to a medical section, check if there are any threads, and if not go create one of their own. That is easier then searching through a couple pages making sure no one mentioned it. History could use some subsections too, however. Maybe "Ancient History", "Pre Industrial Revolution", "Post Industrial revolution", and "20th and 21st centuries".

It is completely unnecessary. In that case, we should be making a "moral" subthread for psycology, and a "capitalism" and "socialism" subthread for politics.

No, not really. Science, as I said, and History, to a point, are more easily classified. Subsections organize the forums so we don't have endless pages of completely unrelated things.

Science, at least, is. History could use them, but its organized enough without them. Philosophy and Politics/current events, don't need one at all.

Well, I'm going to tag @Unillogical because he does this kind of stuff (I think) and @JosefVStalin because I assume the mods need his permission to move a section, add subsections, and change the prefixes.
