Well there are alot of historical reasons and what not but the biggest ones, in my opinion are. Back in the day, around the Medieval ages when jews were commonly kicked out of lands and such due to various reasons like the Spanish inquistion, Jews began money lending and other types of jobs because it was easy to do, for example If you were a jewish farmer in spain when the inquistion happened how would you be able to make a living if your running for your life away from your homeland ?, easy specialize in a job that is knowledge based and not land based, So alot of jews started money lending and alot of them flourished because according to the Catholic church at that time lending money was a sin, And it was to the jews as well unless the person you were lending to wasn't jewish.
