So far it looks like Teddy will keep a far lead while Wilson and Debs will fight for second place and Taft has received no votes.

We're talking about Theodore Roosevelt, not his bitch ass cousin, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Ups. Got the problem. It is not the first time that happened. HIHIHI

But theodore roosevelt also sucked. He was an imperialist.

The progressive movement in the US (which Roosevelt belonged to), at that time, was also horrible. It defended prohibitionism, economic interventionism, eugenics, populism, etc.
No surprise the KKK reached it´s apogeum during the progressive era. Many ideals were very simillar.

Your actually wrong, imperialism can actually be very good to contribute to the world. Look at the Panama Canal for example, would you say that was bad?

Are you honestly claiming that the KKK is a progressive movement? Yea the KKK is widly known for their starch hatred of monopolies and their love of union labor. The KKK is also a huge supporter of the enviromental conservation Building up our parks and also pushing for child labor laws. All these things are evil. Honestly the only beleif that the progressive movement and the kkk held in common was prohabition, and even then it was for completly different reasons.

So? "Big stick" diplomacy can be summed up as try to use diplomacy, but back it up with force. I don't see anything wrong with this.

No, I´m saying that some ideals of the progressive movement (the old one) were simillar to KKK values, and that helped the 2nd KKK movement to reach the apogeum of the KKK history, while the progressive movement rose also. The rest you wrote was just trolling. Did you red the link I gave you?

I once had a wonderful conversation about this very same topic, they said to vote for Taft for the betterment of the world, I'll see if i can find the conversation again. I think it went under the lines of "Germany is awesome let them do there shit, and america can just do what it wants in america"

The rest of what I wrote is the ideals that the most progressives believed in(none of them shared by the kkk, in fact the klan outright apposed some of these ideals, for example the support for unions). I read the article and I disagree with alot of it. The kkk would have rose without the progressive movement, simple because it was more unified organization. It was utilizing new tactics, no longer were they lynching people in the streets but instead they were focusing on pushing there agenda through legal means, and using media to spread their message. This apealed to the mainstream and atrracted more members and thus they grew.

"sniff" Its true! I would have teamed up with the Germans to send me into the future only to betray them by getting Perry, taking him back in time, making him president, & then allowing him to beat the Germans into bloody pulps.

Though given how at the time my family was living in Germany, anything that would serve the interest of the German nation would thus serve me and as such I would support any president who wishes to keep out of Europe's conflict or better yet to support Germany in the war.

Pretty sure Wilson's re-election campaign in 1916 was to maintain neutrality so yeah, that won't work well for you.

Wilson it was clear that he was lying to get the vote, though as least Roosevelt would have been forward about it.
