This graph is part of a study from Journalism.org, verumserum.com, and emandp.com to see which major news network was more biased in the 2008 election. FOX News or MSNBC? As you can see FOX was more fair and balanced on McCain and it was actually slightly more negative and neutral on him than positive. However, MSNBC had barely anything positive on their channel on McCain, and neutral was not so high either. Instead he was seen as largely negative on the major liberal network with 75% of their stories on him being negative. Now lets go to Obama. Obama had equally positive stories as McCain did on FOX. As a matter of fact the coverage on McCain and Obama by FOX is rather similar, but MSNBC was barely negative on Obama while they were strongly positive and neutral on him! I guess that shows who the most biased network is.
This is why I don't watch either of these and instead watch ABC. Hell, they are so unbiased, I don't even know which side they agree with.
Actually they apparently did the study with CNN to and that more fair and balanced than these, but for some reason they never put it on the graph.
Well I have never seen them get offensive to anyone really, but perhaps they are scared to be accused as biased so they think pleasing everyone works out.
I'm not terribly surprised. The Republican and Democratic race in the 2008 election was remarkably clean, and Fox News being so connected with the Republicans, it isn't surprising that they laid off. It was part of the strategy. MSNBC is very left but not terribly linked with the Dems, they're more autonomous.
They never said CNN was not biased, just that it was the most fair and balanced between it, FOX, and MSNBC with MSNBC being most biased.
I will not doubt say that is true, which is why it is clearly not fair and balanced, it is just more fair and balanced than MSNBC and less than CNN.
