So I don't think many people out there see this French election to be a minor and unimportant moment in this decade, and everyone seems to be throwing their opinion in on the subject.

Politico.com gathered the opinions of numerous American politicians on the subject and they're listed here:
    http://www.politico.com/arena/archive/six-months-out-obama-or-romney-ahead.html

They're all an interesting read if you ask me, but the one that really stuck out, made me laugh, and is the reason I'm posting this, is this one:

That's a really stupid statement. There were a wide array of opinions that came from every part of the spectrum. Your categorical dismissal of all of their opinions on the basis that they come from Americans is no less than nationalism, something that is itself just racism by another name.

As is the one I am quoting.

Your assumption that I dismissed their opinions on the basis that they are American is absolute bullshit. I have not stated that, nor do I think that. I stopped reading at one point, and that was that.

You've made yourself look like a real ass with this post, good job.

Now, I expect no flame wars from this, you are not causing more shit on this thread today.

Didn't this new french president leave his wife of 30 years and his 4 children for a exsupermodel. I think the last french president did something similar.

    My favorite one is this:

Grover Norquist President of Americans for Tax Reform :

The election of Socialist Francois Hollande to the presidency of France is a transparent ploy by the DNC to make Obama look more reasonable. Probably organized by ACORN and funded by Soros. American voters will see through this ruse.

I don't know if he's joking are not, but I really hope he isn't.

I love all the differing opinions, some seem happy about it, others know that this will cause socialism in the united states.

Particularly like hearing what individual Republicans and Democrats think, as opposed to what the party line is. I was quite surprised by some reactions on both sides.
