Have you read the book and how they actually get the WMD? Though I agree, it was not very plausible. Still scares me, though.

No he has not, and yes it was very plausible.

@slydessertfox, they get the nuke by reverse engineering an Israeli nuke that was lost during one of the wars with its neighbors. They don't engineer it very well though, and instead of taking out an entire city it just takes out the stadium and a little bit around it. (It goes off in Denver during the superbowl)

Planting documents and instilling fear among their enemies. Thats what the Al-Qaeda is doing...
Not sure about the hijacking the cruise ships, they are quite big and need to dispose of the security teams aswell. Not to mention the hundreds of passengers.

Fun Fact - you're much more likely to die falling down a set of stairs than from a terrorist attack. Yet we don't have a multi-billion dollar Social/military/intelligence campaign around stair safety now do we? - Which is why this article isn't really worth your attention.

The War on Terror is really a War of a Nation State on it's own people and as a means of gaining leverage over other nations. It's worth funding multi-billion dollar efforts into instilling fear and a false sense of patriotism in your populace if it means you can justify aggressive foreign policy ventures into weak countries for dubious reasons (like control over poppy seed production, and funding the wallets of multinationals to develop oil pipelines and rebuild war-torn Afghanistan).
