There's got to be at least one that's tolerable and isn't full of people that seem to come straight off youtube.
I personally am not a anime person, in fact I have consistently bashed mainstream anime like Naruto (I despise that show). However the only anime that I have ever liked and given respect are: Dragon Ball Z, G Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, and the Legendary 'Saint Seiya' aka 'Knights of the Zodiac'.
I Think My Favorite would be Spirited Away, it was the first anime to introduce me to anime, i was like 6. That let me know the difference between a good anime (DBZ) and a bad one (Naruto DBZ KAI) Also no joke, i used to be quite a sexist back then until i saw that movie.
By the way, those are all mainstream. And no self respecting anime fan with some experience likes or tolerates Naruto or the 14 year old wapanese fanbase that follows it. The funny thing is that they think themselves elite or something because they've watched 50 shows. It's rather funny.
Eh I was always into the darker animes, I watched alot of higurashi no koro ni, Tsukihime, Hellsing, Death note, and a few others but I was never really into anime that much, even though all my friends are cosplayers and really into it lol.
If you liked Higurashi, you should definitely watch Umineko. Takes place in the same universe, same type of story, art, etc. Also worth watching, along the same lines, is Another. Tsukihime is the incestuous cousin of fate/stay night, and with fate/zero now being aired (and spectacularly so at that), it would be an excellent time to check that series out.
' Thanks man, I did kind of like higurashi even though it did make me say Wtf ? a few times here and there, so I will check out umineko and the others.
I'd say that Umineko is even more confusing than Higurashi, and it just doesn't have the psycho girls.
I think I might finally build up the courage to watch higurashi or should I start somewhere else? Becauus I mean... Evangelion fucked me up... Maybe I shouldn't watch it... Ah fuck it ill be a man and watch it!!
You're already so broken human being that you can't be traumatized anymore. So you were fucked up Evangelion... hmmm... I always thought that it would rather work as a cure. Did you only watch the series or the movie too.
Well then you should watch the movie (End of Evangelion). But now when I think about it, I don't know if it would be good or bad...
