I thought it might be slightly more humourous to portray you as an animated character than Charlton Heston's character, even if Charlton Heston's character had a breakdown at the end of the film.
EDIT: Also, The Planet of the Apes is hardly obscure, the wiki's full of obscure stuff, like Leeds or Francis Urquhart.
