The one thing I hate is arrogant Atheism. Religion is so varied & so different even within one religion between the various sects & person to person that to condemn the beliefs of all the religious as 'barbaric' or claim to be in some way superior to religious people is a deluded notion, indeed. I am an Atheist I essentially get there two ways, firstly in the negative sense as a lack of belief. God has not been justified to me, I have heard Philosophical & non-philosophical arguments for his existence & I have found them distinctly lacking. The second way is in the positive sense where I look at many of Gods supposed attributes & the beliefs of religions as well as why religious people believe as they do (sources of theology etc.) & realise they are either lacking or incompatible with my philosophy. For example I am a hard determinist & and don't think libertarianism can work, I believe it incoherent & compatibalism is showing up to the wrong debate entirely, the point is that I don't believe in moral culpability as an entailment & therefore, don't believe in hell. The trouble with positive Atheism is that you can't really ever rule out God entirely, just a specific kind of God(s). The overall point is don't be arrogant because you could be wrong although you probably aren't.
Yes I have, all 5 of them. I have written countless essays on them. off the top of my head: unmoved mover, uncaused causer, argument from contingency. Argument from degree & argument from design.
It's part of his Summa Theologica, which has 150 pages for a table of contents, so I'll just post it in a spoiler. Edit- Better Idea
Well the ones I wrote for A level are no longer with us, they are on my old broken laptop. I wrote an essay on the 5 at some point but I think it was a night before job. I'll take a look because I don't tend to be happy with what I've written in the past. Okay I found it, I remember writing it, it was a deadline day job so it's rushed. It got a mid 2-1 so I'll read it then decide whether it's of sufficient quality for me to post. Edit: read it, too rushed, not posting it!
....That english isn't his first language, though he is fluent in it... Not that unbelievable or hard to pick up.
thanks for the translation! I doubt it. The essay was okay but you can it's rushed, it starts off okay but by the 4 & 5 proof I have clearly lost the will to write the damn thing!
Bah, jokes and sarcasm travel terribly over the internet. Especially when it's this hot, I'm too tired to think straight.
