of course there are aliens and its our duty to teach them the values of freedom, democracy, capitalism and Jesus by force if necessary.

Aliens would laugh at the idea of Jesus, they wouldn't believe it. Imagine if aliens came here, and started teaching you a religion that has places and people you never heard of.

If however you mean teach them the message of Jesus love, compassion and the like, then i imagine they have there own type of person like this in there religion.

As for freedom, democracy, and capitalism, they would probably have this in there history somewhere.

Assuming we could defeat them. I suppose it depends on who is more advanced. If we are than other humans attack us (if we are not unified that is). If the aliens are more advanced, well we are fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

To be honest, though, if we'd actually manage to find intelligent alien life, they wouldn't be insects.

Anyway, what if intelligent alien life finds us?

Depends on there goals. They might find us and just watch us, like how we observe animals and plants. They might watch us until we become a threat. I find them invading us a laughable scenario mainly because if there a species able to travel light years, what use would earth be? Then there is the scenario when they want to help us, that would be interesting. I would also like to add that all religion would be a lot more difficult to believe.

Earth is abundant in resources. Maybe they use saltwater.

I think beings able to traverse across millions of light years would have better forms of resources then what is found on earth. Water is also very abundant throughout the cosmos, we find places all the time that have water on it I doubt we are the only planet with water. (Don't even get me started on Europa again.)

EDIT: I have changed my mind about resources, we are abundant in a wide variety of resources, but pretty much all objects in the cosmos have resources on them. For example mars has a shitload of iron. (I would like to add that that is and actual unit of measurement.)

That depends on a vast amount of factors. For one, though, communication will be an absolute bitch. That's one thing I found very strange about Mass Effect. Apparently, humans are the newest to the whole intergalactic interaction thing, yet every alien is able to speak their language.

I think there's a universal translator or something. I remember there being an acceptable lore explanation for it.

Yeah but how many planets in our particular solar system? Us and Europa. Maybe they would wanna use Earth as kinda like a pit stop.

Personally I can't believe there is no other live in the universe, but I don't see why it should exist as we think 'life' is. Other life could be absolutely anything, we cannot comprehend the possiblities of the universe.

You mean a pit stop for water? That is a very likely scenario, if there power sources run on water.
