Actually, that depends on who you ask. Revan nearly caused a Jedi civil war by threatening to openly endorse his marriage and family with Bastila (though technically he apparently never met his son). Later on, after the fall of the Second Death Star and the founding of the New Jedi Order, Luke openly endorsed Jedi having families and in fact had several children who grew up to be prominent figures in SW lore.
Yes, but the Council still didn't approve Revan's marriage, they allowed it because they needed him, I believe. Although, is that part considered ToR lore? Because I read the continuation of Revan's story, and I can only imagine he feels violated.
