I guess that would make sense, especially the hunting part, as that's what really helped humans' intelligence.

Except that makes no sense either.

You are arguing that they are blue because it was advantageous on their planet, where most things are blue.
But you also said that things on their planet are blue, not by choice or convenience or because the state conferred any particular benefit, but because they were forced due to high levels of element zero and biotecs.

Basically, you are taking an artifical construct and inserting it into an argument as a natural occurrance due to evolution. Which it isn't.

It may still be that green is the optimal color for plants on that world to grow and thrive. But the presence of element zero and biotecs in the environment to the scale that they are have arbitrarily changed the color of everything, seemingly, to blue.

If the plants are blue and you are blue then your skin would act like camouflage. The only thing that doesn't make sense is blue plants but this is science fiction we are talking about.

But the camoflage of having blue skin didn't evolve in this case - it was forced by the element zero.
Therefore, it was never a matter of evolution to adapt to a color that was useful.

    They have some benefits.

I would have to take the time to evaluate them against the other ME species to come to that conclusion though.

Overall, though, that you choose them to be 'awesome' is little surprise.
In many a science-fiction or fantasy series, there is a "master species" which is essentially meant to be everything good about humans and none of the bad.

I usually side with humans most of the time though, as I can relate in most cases.

When I root for the humans it usually depends on which science fiction. I find I like us the most in star trek. It seams in that series we are very wise and kind, in comparison to some other series were we are just complete douche bags.

Depends on where you go. I tend to find human interactions understandable in most science fictions.

    Agreed

On topic I think we will be the first to contact alien life.

Hmm... at the rate we are going... it is unlikely but at the same time, it is undeterminable.

The real question here is "can we breed with them?"

No, because we are different species. That is an obvious question. Can a dog breed with a cat?

I don't watch mass effect and am unfamiliar with anything about the game, besides it has a horrible ending.

Basically, the Asari are capible of reproducing with other species by means of... melding? their minds with that of the other speices. They trade knowledge, history, etc.
I don't know whether it would actually qualify as 'reproduction' since it is unclear whether there is any biological mixing taking place.

By this, Asari are essentially capible of 'reproducing' with any sentiant species.

Ya, the asari pretty much mind fuck. Somehow they are still able to get the genetic information of its mate no matter what the species. Makes perfect sense. It is still cool science fiction.
