With the U.S. presidential elections coming up and no one really getting exited about the contendors. Here's a fake election between who are consirdered to be the best U.S. presidents.

For me its Lincoln since I consider him to be the greatest U.S. president. To bad he'll forever be assoiated with the Republican party. Teddy's a close second though

He may not have been officially aligned with one but his views definately where Federalist-leaning and also I'd hate to see John Adams get crushed.

Not the best idea to begin with.

Every president fits with the time that they existed... or didn't.
Some had perfectly valid ideas on things like the economy, but were unfortunate enough to bump into something that their planning was never meant to encompass.
Beyond just the economy, many presidents had what are now outdated or extremely controvertial ideas in their time.

Take George Washington. When he left the presidency behind, he cautioned the US against politcal parties and involving the US in foreign affairs, both of which he believed would be the death the US.
Obviously, these are largely considered outdated ideas. The US has two major political parties which are invested in ever facit of US life. The US is also the most active in the international community. George Washington would probably be appalled at how the US has turned out.

Other presidents were too wrapped up in crisises of their time to really pay as much attention to long-term planning. Thus, we don't have a clear picture of what they would do.

Either way, I cannot think of a US president that has come and gone that had a policy in... anything... that would help the US now. They would just struggle to keep up with the times.
Even if they are good in some ways, it would come down to "the best of the obsolete".

I picked Mr. Lincoln, he was our greatest president ever(in my opinion) and without him, there would be the CSA and the USA, instead of just the USA. Not good.

Though I don't know if we should include what he did before he was president in his resume.

It was so much harder than picking a side. If he just flat out said "I like France" a big British Army would have been on the US's doorstep.

    Also France lost... real awesome.
