people in Egypt have a really shitty choice between former prime minister and the muslim brootherhood candidate ones a secular elitist who looks up to mubarak the other a muslim fundamentilist who wants to put more islamic laws in action *SIGH* this is rather upsetting to me their revolution may have ended before it really began....... oh well what are your guys opinions

Come on, no matter who they elected someone was going to say they were making the wrong choice.

Don't worry if the people don't like who they "voted" for they can just revolt again.

I honestly think Egypt will be a Military Junta for a while.

Well, what else do you expect when the military currently is in charge of the government? I think you are to optimistic that something fair and free was going to happen.

To be honest, this doesn't surprise me. This was always a danger with revolutions in the middle east, that a theocratic faction would rise to power. And it looks like it just might happen, again.

You know 40% divided by 13 is like 3% each, right?

Unregulated election committees always ensure democracy, so I don't see why everyone's bitching.

The Egyptian government at this time is a transitional one made up of mostly military resistance leaders. As I recall, they are not running a candidate, and their military nature is not in itself proof of corruption. Not liking the candidates is different from "their elections are rigged".

Look, when you revolt you sometimes get more than you bargained for. This is one of those times.

There was no evolution government. There are no military resistance leaders. They were neutral throughout the whole protests, and the old military generals that were in charge under Mubarak are still there. You can't deny the possibility of them being rigged to benefit the military.

Of course, but the argument: "I don't like the candidates + military transitional government= rigged elections". The possibility exists, but the existence of a possibility does not prove actuality.
