No what it turns into is 2 people arguing 10 different points after they've done it a few times to each other and they're hardily on fucking topic. If people don't have the attention span for the 'loosely written essays' then they probably aren't mature enough to have philosophical debate. This isn't about egotistical zingy 1 oneliners and trying to degrade what they say line by line.

Are you kidding? Breaking up the argument is as old as the forum itself. And if we didn't it's just be a bunch of walls of text that no one could possibly read. I mean, more so than usual.

Of course it's painful. But from any perspective a pain, all be it a bit severe, is better than death. And besides, it's not so bad. You'll get maternity leave and stuff, which is pretty cool.

And besides, it's hard to argue such a point. Sure, I've got no fucking idea what giving birth would be like. Of course, neither do you or Chelsea.

You can keep the baby if you'd like.

    Hive mind collective? What?

That's crazy and nonsensical and completely different from what I've been arguing. It's no wonder you disagree with what I'm saying, you don't even know what it is.

Well I can't be everywhere man.

Fuck, I don't even know what we were talking about.

It has more backing than saying it will change rapidly in the future and inconsistently.

I would like this part of the post if there were such an option.

    And this.

Well of course on the scientific specifics. But again, there has to be a line drawn and it varies based on a philosophical perspective. Which, in turn, is why biologists disagree a lot with this sort of thing. Their philosophical views are very different, in spite of holding the same general scientific beliefs.

    If we must.

Ah, we're getting really confused with ourselves. Fuck it, let's call it quits. At least I will. Maybe you win by default.

Let's just agree to disagree, if we continue this we can only end up getting so confused we're going to have to get drunk to make sense again.

I haven't read through this entire thread but my opinion regarding abortion that in a Communist state of existence, abortion should be promoted, encouraged and free. I also think there should be free sterilization and mandatory sterilization in certain cases.

Why the fack would you bring Communism into a thread like this? Better hope that @Kali don't see...

Anyway, you are evidently a stout believer that population should be controlled, why is this?

Because my politics influence my perception of social topics such as this. Duh. It's kind of how ideas like this are addressed.

Also, I welcome Kali. I could give half a shit about him or anything he has to say. He has yet to approach me.

Why shouldn't it be? We're killing our planet, killing ourselves. It's reckless and out of control. I just believe that in order to create the perfect scenario for a lawless, workers state we need to have the best workers possible. Strong, capable people who can both produce and sustain the type of world that ideally will exist someday.

But how are we going to do that. It's practically impossible to change the gene pool of an entire population directly.

Nature controls population. Things will even out over time.

I'm not trying to weed out anything ethnic, let me preface by saying that. I am not into anything race related. I have an explanation but it's political, and I don't feel like getting bitched at again for talking about it in this super special abortion thread.

    EDIT:
Source please? Nature does not control population anymore. In the same way that it no longer weeds out the weak and useless.

I'm not talking about race, I'm talking about genetic diseases. It's literally impossible to erase a genetic mutation, defect or not.

Also, nature still controls population, maybe not much on humans but on animals it certainly does.

I'm not talking about animals. With modern healthcare and social programs evolution of humans is essentially at a standstill. People who should be dead are forced to live on with the aid of life support and other medical actions. Sucking up resources that could be put toward those who work or for bettering the community. It's not about eliminating a genetic mutation. It's about control at that moment in a state where a revolution is taking place, not worldwide, just a select group. One disabled person is sterilized and in their lifetime that could save the chances of passing on the condition to numerous children. A woman should never feel pressured into having a child. There should be a limit on the amount of kids a family should have as well. Just until the select area (state if you will) is stable.

Yeah, that is true. I've said before that natural selection doesn't play much of a role anymore on human evolution because of modern healthcare and social programs.

    Right. That needs some explaining.

You don't need people to regulate the population (which they'll just abuse those powers anyways). Like I said, it will even itself out on its own. If we have the resources to maintain a population of our size and a population with the amount of people who are physically or mentally retarded like we have then we will. If we can't, then we won't. It might not be ideal for your "lawless workers state", but I think I can deal with that.

It will just be an excepted standard ideally. I'm sterilized. It' s not a big deal. The US had a mandatory sterilization program and it was totally accepted while it lasted. Eventually things will even out and clean up a bit. I guess until someone thinks about doing this we'll just have to rely on disease and natural disasters to cut out big chunks of the populace.

Some people, including me, would see it as a big deal to be forcefully sterilized.
I feel the same way about the U.S. having a mandatory sterilization program. It doesn't change just because it's American. In fact, since I live here, I am against it being implemented even more.

The only thing I would be comfortable with is limiting the amount of children a family can have, and only if it is critically needed. This would also have to be across the board. No letting people who are healthy have more kids and people who are not being allowed fewer.

I guess I can see your point but I disagree with you. Oh, well.
