Anyone else play this game? Its basically a light RP class/job based game set in space. Every round there is a different threat to the station. It could be anything from traitors to aliens, changelings or even wizards in space. Watch as you're made into burgers or the assistants swarm the captain and beat him with toolboxes to death. I normally play as the Head of Personnel or a Roboticist although occasionally I grow weed as a Botanist. Although yesterday I couldn't do much as I kept being abducted by a UFO that an admin was controlling. And don't complain about griefing.

I routinely play SS13, and right now I'm usually the HoP, Research Director, or a geneticist.

I got banned for shooting someone in the face with a laser, killing myself, and logging off.

    Here's a tip:
Play as QM and order a billion guns. Litter the halls with the boxes and wait for hilarity to ensue.

I play SS13 though recently I've been having trouble deciding what job to choose. I usually gravitate toward either engineering or security. I've never attempted captain. What is everyone's usual name? I'm Zane Howards.

Captain is easy as long as you:
    1) Give the nuke disc to a random sec guard*
    2) Don't kill anyone unless pretty obviously attacked first. And even then go for a stun.
    3) Don't be a douche bag.
    4) Don't call the Shuttle before 30 minutes unless serious shit is going down, like a level 19 asteroid storm or something.
    5) Keep tabs with Security. If they've been around you and know you're the Captain they'll be a lot more likely to help when you ask them to.
    6) If there's a Revolution don't go outside waving your ass to the crowds, and also cooperate with the HoS a lot because you probably have no idea how to handle a revolution.
    7) Read the wiki guide you fucking newb.

*Optionally you can give your spare ID to a random sec guard too in case you lose your own.

Doctor's pretty easy, all you have to remember is that invapropaline+anti-tox=magical healing stuff and you're pretty much set. I usually play under the name Alex Morris, but I haven't played since christmas.

Well you're the most sophisticated doctor ever.
    Also:
    1) Wearing a mask is pretty worthless, it only gets in the way when preforming CPR.
    2) Do a health analysis as the first thing unless you already know what the problem is.
    3) If it's fire damage give a kelotain pill.
    4) If someone is near critical tricord(anti-tox + invap) will actually kill them, or at least make the situation a bit worse. Just pop them in the cryo tube for a few minutes.
    5) If someone is vomiting from drunkenness, give them lime-aid. I know it sounds ridiculous, but a chemical in the lime-aid actually helps drunkenness.
    6) Apply bruise patches mostly to the chest and head as those are the only two areas any sane person hits.
    7) Don't bother with the blind beyond giving them some visor goggles. Most of the time the blindness is caused by using a welding torch without a mask (which passes after a few minutes) or by random radiation event (which is incurable by any means).
    8) Brain-damage is saved by some stuff in a neurotoxin kit. I'm not sure if the Medical Room actually has one though, geneticist does though.
    9) Put people in sleepers if the cryo tubes are full. It'll stabilize them, at least.
    10) Carry dead bodies off to genetics or robotics.
    11) Try to get a medibot from either the Head Surgeon's room or from Robotics. It injects everyone with tricord which does pretty much all the work for you as tricord heals practically everything.
    12) Trying to use the port-a-medbay is impractical and worthless. I wouldn't bother with it.
    13) It would be wise to always carry at least a syringe of tricord.

God, I should have told him to do chemist so you'd spend an hour listing off all the recipes.
    14) Port-a-medbay does have a use, quick transportation. Use it to teleport yourself or an injured person back to the medbay in a jiffy
    15) If you ever find yourself as head surgeon during a revolution round, find a lab coat and sunglasses and hang out around robotics. The sunglasses will explain why flashes don't work long enough to run to security and the lab coat will make you blend in better.
    16) Chemistry is your best friend, a lot of drugs can only be made by them, such as the one that repairs blindness, genetic defects and radiation poisoning.
    17) A guy in critical condition should not be injected with kelotane or bicardine, for the same reasons tricord should not be. Bruise packs and burn ointments might also cause damage. Just toss them into the cryo.
    18) There is a fake version of GBS
    19) Viruses can spread via (used) syringes, so don't use that syringe that you just used on an infected person
    20) You need to strip the injured person before you throw them into cryo, or they'll suffocate.
    21) You should have a box containing prescription glasses, give them out to anyone who either lost their pair or got messed up by a rad storm or genetics
    22) Your PDA can function as a health scanner.

I frequently play SS13 as a medical doctor, scientist or janitor, though it almost always ends badly for me.
When I play as a doctor I tend to accidentally kill people during an attempt at surgery.
When I play a scientist most of the time I accidentally release chemicals into the air and the RD ends up setting fire to the research area in an attempt to stop it.
When I play as the janitor people attack me after slipping on wet floors, even if there's a sign. Sometimes they even steal my cleaning grenades.

Unless you're a roboticist, you aren't supposed to be doing surgeries. You should be shooting people up with tricord smacking them with burn patches.
Anyways, I've taken a real shining to playing Medic-Borg. I usually end up being something akin to a station butler.

Oddly enough, when I play the janitor, nobody kills me. Though that's probably because they're usually pre-occupied with an alien infestation, which is fortunate for a bored janitor.

Sweet. I usually go by the name Lydia Hawthorne or Erik Red. I usually play female characters though so don't expect to see Erik pop up much. I usually play as the botanist, miner, or doctor (or nurse).
