Lenin Cat, this is taking political correctness and equality all a bit far. If in a culture, it is less acceptable for a man to wear a certain thing than a woman, then it is, that's all. Its not really cutting into any major freedoms. Its not against the law. So why care so much? If you want to speak out against gender inequality, then speak out against the countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia that actually have problems with this kind of stuff.

Yes I talk to females daily and they don't feel "oppressed" at all. Just yesterday, I talked with my sisters about this. Why are you beginning to insult people in this otherwise perfectly good thread? We don't want you to come here and spoil it, so could you take your talk about gender oppression elsewhere or make a new thread about it?

I read the first half of the posts before I tired of it. Freedom of speech should be limited during certain instances in society. The media should be controlled as well. But only temporarily. I support freedom of speech in normal times, as long as it does not blatantly abuse or spread hate toward another person. A person taking offense to every nuance is another thing. They can't handle their own emotions so they need everyone around them to do it for them. People like that disgust me. You're an adult, not a child. Contain yourself and grow up.

Incidentally, I did to some extent. We were talking about how all men enjoy being pinched in their butt, because all men are perverted pigs and enjoy all sexual acts towards them. At least, that's what the girl said. Sexism and stereotyping go both ways, and in both ways are undesirable. But, I don't think I have to point that out, as Romulus did a perfect job at that.
