Well this story is making its rounds. Basically Mayor Bloomberg is pushing a ban on sodas more than 16 ounces. This ban will affect all movie theaters, restaurants, etc in New York City.

Now Bloomberg is saying he is doing this to fight obesity while his critics say a grown man should be able to know how much soda he wants/needs.

Before we discuss this, I need a drink from this:

ANYWAY!!! I find the whole thing to be outrageously retarded, to put it lightly. It not only silly, but yeah, it is really just silly. Jon Stewart on the Daily Show did a whole opening thing on this, and it was hilarious.

Although clearly, many grown people are unable to look after themselves, so perhaps this ban is necessary.

Now I'm not saying that people should be drinking large amounts of soda, but I really fell the government (New York City) shouldn't tell you that you can't.

Pretty lame, Its sad that bloomberg thinks he's the president of New York and should know his place, this ban is stupid, people know there limits, the government has no right to tell people what they cant consume, it doesn't hurt other people so why the ban?

A couple of months back, I bought some imported American Dr Pepper. Not only was the can double the size of the average Australian soda can, it proceeded to give me a terrible stomach ache. That corn syrup is evil.

I enjoy the occasional 12oz soda, if you become Obese from drinking 12oz sodas in moderation, I don't think its the soda.

Wait 16 ounces is 0.5 liters..... Who would drink more than that outside of home? Because you can still buy more than that in stores, right?
