I was @Vulcan200x's thread about a congress for the forums. It would create a big mess, but it did get me thinking of a more democratic government of the forums. I came up with the Council of Moderators. It is somewhat of a parlement, but here are the basics:

The executive power are the Admins (@JosefVStalin is their boss). They can propose new rules and veto those that do not help the common menbers.

The legislature and judiceary power is the Council of Moderators. They are also the ¨police¨ and make sure that the Admins follow the rules. They can also propose rules. They cannot veto rules, but are allowed to proposed rules.

    Additional stuff:

Rules proposed by the members must have at least 20 people supporting it. When 20 or more people support it, the Council of Moderators should look at it.

Every proposed rule must go through both the Admins and the Council of Moderators. They are allowed to change it, but not to give them (or a group of people) more power.

Debates and discussions will be held every week and a summery of of the debate/disscussion must be published to the members. The debates/discussions are only for the Admins and the Council of Moderators, no-one else!

    This was my idea.

This would create even more of a mess than before. The Happiness and Smiles Act was created for a reason.

Let's not play Reform The Government too often, all right? Let's keep it where it is, this place is quite fine.

What we need right now, is innovative community-based games, not Forum rule reforms.

I'm pretty sure either Vulcan or Karakoran have proposed something like this before.

This negates the Hapiness and Smiles Act and thus should not be passed. Therefore, INB4 LOCK.

These ideas only exist to satisfy power-hungry psychopaths like Alex Tran, Napoleon, etc. Also this has been tossed around many a time. We have a fine staff of Moderators. There is no reason for a political system for more than being able to say "ha, my name isn't grey!"...
