Is it a good idea to make money by spending rather then borrowing?

I personally don't like the idea of money at all, and prefer labor vouchers("local battering system" according to this guy I guess) for more scarce goods and free access or mutual aid for less scarce goods.

Okay, so I'm about half way through it (which is pretty much where I'm gonna stop), and what I've managed to accrue is that money, and therefore all modern economy, is the balance between our demand for goods and assets, manifested in the debt we take on, and the supply of currency created by various organizations and our attached confidence to said organizations. Basically a slightly modified supply and demand system... Not like I could've had that explained to me in a tenth of the time, but whatever.

I can tell youve seen it, but not totally what hes saying, its the government conquering money into existence to spend it, and taxing solely to cause deflation when there's too much money in existence.
