No offence, i generally have great respect for people of spirituality (because believing in what you stand for when it is proven wrong takes great determination), but generally, it is the same explanation, made vague and nonsensical, so even if it's wrong it can be interpreted as right. As you may see here, incredible vague-ness wich cannot be proven or disproven, not because it needs faith, just because it is generally stupid, besides you didn't ever answer the OP. But whatevs idc xD. Have fun n shit!
It requires both probably Morality just bassically means the feeling that you shouldn't do some 'evil' stuff, without morality we'd all become mini-Hitler's
If everyone was amoral, it would lead to the decline of society, and loss of all good things like electricity, santitaion etc. I preffer to have all this good stuff, so i think morals are good. Ofcourse being amoral in a moral society would lead to you easily defeating others in competition, but this does not make it a good trait and definetly not worth applauding.
Are you sure, maybe its common sense and a sense of community that keeps us together. The need for each other
Wich is reflected in our morals, you say common sense, some-one else says morals. It's actually the same stuff. Intelligent people are generally less affected by morals, but then use common sense and reasoning to achieve the same as regular people do through morals. (Don't kill eachother etc.)
Common sense doesn't inflict with morality. Common sense says theres a larger gain keeping you alive for your skills than killing you for the supplies...
Those without common sense however rely on morality to make them do the same thing, ie. not kill some-one, because this is 'evil'. We're now talking about two distinct routes to the same destination.
You do not seem to grasp the fact that 90% of humans are actually fucking stupid and wouldn't be able to figure this shit out... So no, we need it for the stupid people. Because frankly they need to be controlled.
Because a virtue is morally good and faith is morally good in the eyes of the religious. Actually you'd have to be pretty close minded to not see why people think faith is a virtue. A sense of morality is considered part of common sense. No one thinks like that. That's stupid. Ya, except Surf's is intelligent and yours is retarded.
People do think like that. Generally I wouldn't think anyone on here would because we all seem of the type who can either figure out the root logical cause behind morals and become future-positivly viewed (ie Not maximising your own immediate pleasure leads to a greater sustained pleasure for a greater amount of people) or simply reject them entirely and are totally present-positively oriented. Regardless a lot of people don't actually examine their own thought processes in great detail and in cases where they are not naturally future-positivist they need some manner of guidance, which is the "morality" aspect.
