Well that is a horrible way at looking at things. Saying I don't like European monarchs because they didn't give two shits about science, is like me saying I hate the Roman Empire because they didn't give two shits about going to the moon.

None of them were interested in testing our Portal technology, apparently getting 500,000 tons moon rock for testing isn't 'economically viable' whatever the hell that means!

Well, he tried to get rid of the absurdity of Catholicism.. and replaced it with somewhat more logical Calvinist ideals.

underline Tried, and no matter what faith they follow, Innocent people don't deserve banishment, imprisonment, or death just for being the faith that they are.

toucher... but I don't think he ever killed "innocent" people, to my expertise, Cromwell only massacred an Irish brigade when it did not surrender. Although, I do note the absurdity of my past comment and thank you for pointing it out : I must have not been thinking.

In England we spent a good 500 years killing either Protestants or Catholics, depending on which religion the monarch was at the time.
Our monarch can still not be a Catholic.

Although not quite the Spanish Inquisition, not many were killed. Although the catholics who tries to blow up the Houses of Parliment certainly were.
    Pretty cool stuff.

Funny, I actually went to one of these houses recently as part of a module on the Tudors - even went in a 'priest hole'. I think the place was called Harvington Hall.

As an english republican, I rather resent the accusation that Cromwell was a monarch. Just saying.
