What colours do you associate with days of the week?

    Monday: Red
    Tuesday: Blue
    Wednesday: Green
    Thursday: Grey
    Friday: Pinkish
    Saturday: White
    Sunday: Yellowish

I have never found anyone who agrees with another person on this. Why might this sort of stuff happen? Why might one person associate one thing to another and others differently?

I can see people associating days with moods but not with colors. Seasons are the only thing people tend to associate with color. No seriously how the fuck can you associate days with color?

I hardly ever associate anything with colours, except things that are actually coloured.

I do this too actually. Something to do with how visually minded you are. Anyway, for me, Mondays are yellow, Sundays are beige, Wednesdays are bright blue, Thursdays are a kind of salmon pink, Tuesdays are red and Fridays are grey. Saturdays don't seem to have a colour.

I think Monday's are blue, Tuesdays are yellow, Wednesdays are green, Thursdays are purple, Fridays are orange, Saturdays are red and Sundays are some generic bland colour, like grey or a very light brown.

What? I really have no idea what this thread is about. I mean do you mean on Monday we are supposed to all write in red or what?

You think of Monday, what colour do you think of that most... now i have to explain it, it's a very strange concept indeed. Say if you had a calender, and a complete set of crayola, it's the colour that you would use to shade in a day using only the fact that it is that day of the week. I can't put it into simpler terms than that.

No. I disagree. I don't understand how a Saturday can be red. Stop being strange.

Wednesday, a bright blue? And Thursday is grey, not pink. To each his own I guess.

I don't see how the first thing someone thinks of when thinking about a certain day is a colour, though.

You're strange, with all of your Space Odyssey references. Monday is clearly blue, not red.

What kinda of fucking thread is this for a forum about philosophy, history, and communism...

But I will have to agree with your statement.

Sigh. I'm not saying that. I am saying that when faced with the question, what colour would you associate with days of the week.

That is why I put this thread the unrelated section.

    No.

Yeah. It's weird. But hey at least we both got roughly the same colour for Sunday.

I simply cannot fathom how anyone can associate a day of the week with a colour.

However, it's fascinating how everyones minds must work differently, and make different visual associations.

That is what I'm saying. Also, what causes this difference? Early neural links that formed as we started to learn days of the week that subconsciously linked in with colours for some reason? It's not just days of the week. If I tried really hard, I could use colours to describe a persons personality.

There are people who associate colours with certain sounds as well, I think. Or they could "hear" sounds or something along those lines. I don't know what it's called exactly, but it's pretty interesting.
