A great german comedian once said: "All america can produce, is weapons. Everything else, that is more complicated than a refridgerator, has to be imported.... keep your bombs. You do realize that every member of NATO despite the US and Canada is European, right? oO Pretty good, was nice of the Greeks to invent it for all of us 2500 years ago....
That fact might. @greatmustachio And look what you guys did with that democracy for 2400 years. Who was the first modern democracy again? Who founded NATO again? Who kept the Soviets out of Western Europe again? Also, who invented the refrigerator?
It's constitutional and doesn't hinder our democratic efficiency in any way. Though I'd still personally prefer it to be gone.
There have always been republics all over Europe since that time, so we did with it what we could. The evil and power of some men prevailed for a long period of time, but since we "share" this history (you have as much European heritage as anyone of us, I know it pains you), I don't see the point? oO The first democracy established in modern era was the Republic of Corsica.... Does not matter, sicne it is a defensive pact for all the members, not just for the security of the one founding it. The NATO is not the NATO withou 90% of its member states.... Sometimes I wish it was the other way around, so we don't have to put up with all the idiots you got over there That whould be either Ibn Sina, a persian physicist of the 11th century, or William Cullen, a Scottish Physicist in the 18th century.
How'd that Hundred Years War go for you again? @greatmustachio You treated independent Corsica, real nice. And the U.S., Canada, and Turkey have a special bond that you will never understand. Also, we were the first ones to put an electronic refrigerator in everyone's home.
Seeing as the Netherlands weren't part of it, quite well. Although I think my birthplace was still a sea back then...
You asked for the first in the moders era, you got the first in the modern era. Ahh.... okay.... still only 10% of the NATO... You asked who invented the refridgerator, not who commercialized it.... I know it's hard with the type of education you get from that outdated system in the US, but you should phrase your questions a bit better next time
You should watch who you patronize. I know that Germanic upbringing of yours makes you think you're the tops, but remember who can make running your branch a real bitch.
