    I think Smith said that one of the only functions the State should have, is to protect private property and such.

    Come on Pedro. What is the main purpose of the state in regards to the market? Answer: Enforcing legal contracts that determine property ownership as well as laws that make sure these marketeers are actually trading with each other instead of murdering each other.

    A completely free market in the capitalist sense is still a market that operates within in the rule of law. Unless you'd like to make the argument that our current Black Market with all its murder and theft is a bastion of capitalist achievement?
