    Hardly. My fascination with communism happened when I was like 13 (lol Kara). And since then I've seen what a terrible and stupid idea it is. Rather, I'm fascinated with alternate history.

    So back on topic, is alternate history counter productive.

    How is this different from Western Liberal Democracy?

    They vote for blue and green, we vote for blue and red.

    And with regards to the OP - We don't live in a democracy - we live in a Plutonomy. And I would argue that Democracy would clearly be counter-productive to a national agenda dictated by such a plutonomy (hence the reason we don't have one).
