    You know what, fuck the lot of you! From now on, the Falkland Islands belong to the United States of America. Any questions?

    The Argentinian claim is a joke, and if it weren't 5am I'd give you a huge Berlin Textwall to explain why, but suffice to say, the islanders want to be British, so the islands stay British. And we'll keep sending nuclear subs there just to tick off the Argies too, because it's fucking funny.

    I think the islands should remain British, as that is fair to the islanders.

    However, we should give 25% of all the oil from the surrounding waters to Argentina.

    The British fought the Argentinians for it, so therefore, it is British.

    I'm not sure that logic carries any weight in the modern world.

    I want to see more people arguing for the Argentinian claim, this thread is too one sided.

    Well, let me tell you a little story about the Portuguese. In 1974 there was a military coup against the Estado Novo of Portugal. During that coup, no shots were fired, and at the end, soldiers and civilians all gathered and put flowers into the barrels of the soldiers' guns.

    That picture you posted must be from that event, because I've never heard of that happening before.

    No one is arguing for Argentina because there is no basis to their claim.

    Please help us @Yarpen

    Oddly enough the Falklands belonged to the USA for one month, from December 1831- January 1832.

    So you do have an actual claim.

    @Shisno
    There is some basis for the claim.
