I don't understand the argument well enough to do it justice. And while I don't agree with the Argentinian claim, it certainly exists.

    Have a look here.

    Haha, I love George Galloway.

He's a completely left-wing crazy man who won an election in Bradford when the previous MP fell ill. He basically won because nobody wants to vote for the Labour Party any more.
He does make some points though.

What people are forgetting is that recently, around the time the Argentina once again pushed their claim for the Falklands, oil was discovered in the Falklands and that's the only reason why Argentina wants them.

Nope, its just some smelly hippies protesting at the pentagon. The photo is called Flower Power and was taken by Bernie Boston in 1967. Interesting story though.

Obviously America is the proper owner of the Falklands.

Well now that, UK is making major cuts to her army, reducing 102 000 regular troops to 80 000 and making so that UK cant maintain a divisional level deployment for any meaningful period.
hopefully Argentine doesn't get any funny ideas..

They probably will fight over it again one of these days, and the UK will probably win again.

I think many experts agree it is likely we could hold onto the Falklands, considering the advanced ships and equiptment we have in the area.
However, if Argentina were to take it somehow, we might have trouble getting them back.

Of course there's no need to be discussing war, that would be the worst outcome for everyone.

hell yea you could hold onto it, if you got advance warning, but taking it back this time could be a bitch... Now that you don't have means to take air superiority.

We're supposed to be sharing an aircraft carrier with the French.
I wonder if they'd let us borrow it for a few months, and promise not to break it.. haha

I wouldn't be so optimistic with those forces. Argentina can fly their planes from their home bases, they will dominate the air space if UK doesn't get more planes there, they will dominate.
