With all the news right now Rome II seems like a double edged sword, one side I guess it too Roman-Centric, the other side I hear they will always put in depth the whole of this Europa Barbarorum and Asia ton Barbaron. Well I am hoping what CA ad said come trues.

I think your game can't be Roman centric enough if the game is named after the damn place.

Yeah they are planning on a gigantic map, bigger than eb I believe, which is quite a large map itself.

No they said a larger area covered. Remember, the Seleucid empire stretched all the way into India and the partisan empire stretched that far as well. I read somewhere that it's supposed to go deeper into Africa as well. This is going to be an enormous map.

It's not even in the alpha stage and the people who saw the siege if Carthage says it is already light years better than the other total war games.

My favourite thing about the Roman period is the variety of the troops of various factions. I do hope they explore them all thoroughly.

Yes, I hope so. That was the thing that made Rome for me, sending your Roman legions against the barbaric Gauls to the north, the Greek hoplites, then the chariots and elephants of the east, changing your strategy with each new enemy.

I too hope for diversity, as well as a bit more of a grasp on history in the sequel.

Perhaps, but in Total War games I look for fun over accuracy. So I hope it's fairly accurate, but not so much that it is detrimental to the gameplay.

Good point I still want to hear "Yes Imperator" and the rest of those squeaky roman accents!

The problem isn't getting Latin speakers its getting speakers for people from Carthage which has a language we know very little about thanks to the Romans.
