Good. With the Alliance with Poznan strong, Danzigian merchants have requested maps and navigation tools for the British Isles. President Augustyn is looking into trading with the Welsh.
Shocking news from Danzig! Mykal Augustyn, the leader of the Danzig Republic contracted an infection from an old childhood wound that subsequently killed him after ten days of agony. The Senators of Danzig are split over the next Mykal, with some supporting Augustyn's Son, Aeric, which others see as a an attempt to destroy the republic. The other Faction of Danzig Senators support the aging Chancellor Adalbert, an intelligent but unlikable man. Aeric has won the hearts of the people, and Adalbert has won the support of the ruling class. The crisis is boiling to the point of civil war.
Construction of the Imperial Navy begins. 40 Penance-class warships are placed under construction. 10,000 men join the Imperial Guard and are placed in training.
The situation in Danzig has deteriorated. The respective claimants to the Danzig Mykalship have recruited their respective followers in a political war of attrition, with intense slander campaigns held by both sides, civil war is no longer a question.
Apologies: The designs are currently not avalible for public oogling. Please come back during regular service hours...
After almost a month of bickering, the two leaders agreed to meet together to produce a strategy to maintain peace. The talks were a failure, as both parties couldn't agree on anything, from the position of the Earth to the democratic process. But the powder keg was lit by two guards of Aeric's who drank a little bit too much, and ended up picking a fight a soldier in the employment of Adalbert. Both sides have different versions of the events that followed, but the end result was five dead soldiers, and a Danzig Civil war.
NO! NO! Bad Spartan! Bad! Tell us what you consider to be a fair trade and we'll see. Edit: Does anybody care what is happening in Danzig? It doesn't look like it. Just saying.
Danzig wood! Get it today; put a spear tip on it and stab your way to victory tomorrow! Buy Danzig wood!
The first act of war between the two pretenders is the mass mobilization of peasants in any village near the city of Danzig. Aeric Norwok, out numbered by the keen Aldabert, dispatched a diplomat to the court of the King of Poznan, requesting immediate military aid, and in return, the wealth of the successful merchant Aldabert.
