I thought at first you meant philosophical materialism which is something the commies spend their entire life praising while bashing all forms of metaphysics.

BUT MATERIALISM IS LIKE WRONG BECAUSE MARX MAN SAID SO.

I'm going to guess that it's not going to be a materialism vs dualism debate.

It's okay. Other people make me more happy, though.

    Actually lol'd.

Nothing really wrong with materialism. I personally just try to remember that it's in part a load of commodity fetishism, but unlike dumbass communists I don't assume that's a bad thing. Which, since I feel like going off on a tangent, is an awesome example of the fact that 90% of internet communists haven't even fucking read Capital.

Everything is wrong with materialism. Look at all the worlds problems, I guarantee you that they can be traced back to humanities needs to quench that materialistic lust that so infests us like the worst of plagues.

If I'm reading this correctly, you basically just called vital existence a plague.

I'd love to see you make it through a week without a comfortable shelter and clothing, vast inventory of tools, excessive stockpile of food, practically endless supply of clean drinking water, and the occasional toy/luxury product to keep you happy.

Do it motherfucker. Tell us about how noble it is to go without, how much better off you are without all the things you have now.

Truthfully, it would be have such an in-substantial effect that to do it would involve sheer idiocy on a scale that I am not capable of. On a similar note, if humanity doesn't buck up and stop this energy fuck up then within the next century we will most definitely be fucked up. I am currently trying my utmost hardest to cut back on things that I deem unnecessary, I'm not going to drive for as long as I possibly can, I consume a considerable amount less than most people, I use one light at a time, out of three in my room. I think I am doing my part to attempt to fix this planet.

Those are all "feel-good" solutions. Your existence still costs an enormous amount of material resources and man power to maintain.

I don't know if I get it right, so don't take me very serious. I don't think materialism is wrong, but I don't like people who are always spending money just because. Buying the new smartphone, just released yesterday, having already a good cell phone, for example.

I agree with Yarpen, for me it's more about what each person thinks rather than right or wrong.

But it is true that being too materialistic can be detrimental to your happiness, someone who places too much value in having the latest and new things can sometimes be less of a person without them.

Man you keep making posts in the section about things that most people disapprove of and demanding an explanation. And you know, that's good for a bit and all. But like 4 threads of it man?

You are probably the most Republican communist in existence. Well, that's to be expected since you only signed on to bandwagon. Oh, and since you're 13.

Regarding the OP, there's nothing wrong with it. Possession of property is pleasant, and poverty is unpleasant.
