You sound like a fundamentalist defending the bible. Not only did you mean exactly what darth said, you also used an analogy that made no sense, considering cancer is one of these things that never really goes away, nor is religion comparable to cancer in the first place.
Oh, you poor oppressed man. How will you ever survive in this brutal, brutal world ruled by the iron fist of the Mississippi Baptist Preacher. Who has gone so far as to suggest that people should let religion (the explanation of everything and the best way you should live your life) influence their political thought process. THE NERVE OF THESE TYRANTS! Maybe one day we'll all elope to an anti-thiest utopia where we can have gay, anal, sex with animals all day long.
We ran out of room in the CityStates thread, so we'll post here from now on. This thread sucked anyway.
Yeah man lets let their religion influence their political thought process! I mean who cares about all those people that believe in a different religion!
Obviously it should influence a person's political thought. Just as every other major aspect of a person's being should influence their political thought. The absence of religious belief as well. What do you mean people from other religions? Bringing religious beliefs into political thought doesn't trample their rights at all. It's not as though that Christians going against abortion on religious grounds prevents Mormons from going for polygamy on religious grounds. My point is, more rather, that people should more commonly use religion (or the absence of religion) to influence their political stance. It is too often cast aside without a moment's notice. There's actually sense in these archaic books if you bother to read them.
