clearly you are ignorant when it comes to the story of Satan, As the story goes Satan was an Angel who decided to betray God because he didn't like the fact that God was creating humans(who were at the time only Adam and Eve) because he felt that these creatures were inferior to them so why create them? As punishment for Satan's betrayal God exiled him from Heaven then Satan made his version of 'Heaven' which was Hell. God did not 'choose' to create Satan as you say. Also why do all Atheists assume that if God does in fact exist that he controls our every move and controls our destiny? we still make our own destiny, it's not like God holds a gun to your head saying to do this otherwise you die. For instance all the diseases that are in this world? are mostly Man's fault not Gods.[/quote:shr2vhwf]
Yeah, but who made the angels? God, right? So he did... make the devil... or he isn't omniscient, so he didn't know the devil would betray him.... something doesn't add up here :p

Don't try to circumvent the problems with Epicurean arguments that have already been stated a great many times just because I'm not the one on the other end of the argument.

Maybe for Christians, but it does make sense for Judaism. Satan was not a fallen angel. G-d is omniscient, so he created the Evil Inclination, which is the spiritual existence of evil, not a direct embodiment like Satan. G-d created the evil inclination to test humanity and it's faults, and to know those whose who live a fruitful and moral life, and those who don't. Then, in the afterlife, or during the Resurrection of the Dead, your place in the world can be decided once more.

    Omniscient , a funny term.

If god was all knowing, he would already know the outcome of every single human's life that he would ever be the cause of and every little thing that could possibly occur and he would all ready know all the choices they would make and why they made them because he created the universe in which that sequence of scenario's occured.

Therefore, there would be no reason to test us, that doesn't make any sense.

I am an anti theist I feel we have just used religion when we were scared and had no idea that there were earthquakes because we lived on a cooling planet it was our first and worst attempt at solving the problems of the world it was also our worst attempt I think now though we can do without desert fairy tales and the hate that is generated from religion.

Oh great, a huge necropost and you did it so you could pretend to be intelligent as you consider converting to Buddhism because you "like it". There's just as much evidence for the Aztecs as the Catholics or the Taoists or the fucking Seven (New) Gods in Game of Thrones. "Liking" a faith doesn't make it true.

You'll grow out of it though, hopefully.

I believe in Jesus, and that He is the the Son of God, and the he was resurrected. I believe that God exists outside of time, which was created when man first sinned. I think that Catholicism is huge perversion of the Word, as with the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses, and any others that don't follow the Word(branches off Christianity). The Jews mostly just didn't go along with Jesus as was prophesied. Mohammed didn't see an angel, he probably saw a demon. And the world will end most likely within the next 50 years, and I think in the next 10 to 20.

Good lot of proof too. The flooding of the earth pretty much accounts for a lot of stuff, unless you look at it as if there was no possibility of it being true. Crossing the Nile happened, and there are chariot wheels and things that would have been in an Egyptian army are at the bottom. Geneticists have said that the races could have easily split apart after the tower of Babel. Natural disasters are getting worse and more frequent( a sign of the end times). And more neat stuff that I don't care to type. But really, its a faith thing, and me typing on this keyboard helps no one.
    Just what I believe.

Wow...just wow... Why do you believe your religion is real and you know those millions of other polytheistic religions that came before it are wrong? Why do you think a religion that is only a couple thousand of years old is right, but the religions that are lets say 10,000 years older are wrong?

So I had my silly little stint at trying to make sense of religion and yeah screw that. I'm gonna just keep believing there is some sort of elder race or powerful being out there that for some reason has been misinterpreted many many many many times. Also, necropost is 6 months. This is way over that.
