As for the binary computing, read on Quantum Computing some time. If we can get a large quantum computer, processing speed will increase vastly.
Also, AI right now is far from reality. Recently, I went to a congress where there was something on AI and computer consciousness. The thing is that not only is it impossible for a computer to "feel", and it's very hard (nearly impossible) to make one understand human feelings. At best, we can have them imitate us and react basing on external signals. they pick up from humans. As one of the speakers on the congress said; it's nice to have computers act like us, but isn't it much, much better to focus on those tasks which they can perform better than humans?
