It's 1gbit, the same what Australia is going to have according to the site you posted, and Stanford University has such speeds as well.
I love how they expect everyone to use it for study and research purposes, but 99% is going to be used on illegal torrenting, gaming and porn.
True, and the great thing is they can't block anything because people live there! I think one of the servers has like 2 or 4 TB that's just porn on it, it's fucking genius.
