    After the crusades ended... The pope and the French king realised that the Templars were still around, but they didn't need them anymore and they could still use their CA$H! Many Templar knights were accused of heresy and ended on the stake, but luckly Templar leader Jacques de Molay summoned his magical Templar powers to curse the French and the pope. And the Roman pontiff and the French monarch died soon thereafter...

    I find the decline to be after Theodosius. From what I read, the Roman army was still 10 times better than that of the time of Caesar. I personally find the decline during the reign of Stilicho after Theodosius's death. (Stilich was not that bad though in my opinion).
