The British Empire was the single most powerful nation the world has ever seen, never has the world seen anything like it, nor has any other nation ever achieved anything like it. No, not really. The US came into existence in 1776. Not only were they completely insignificant at the time, even when they became a big player, the British Empire remained the world's largest power until after WWII. I'd say the decline started when India gained independence. The US only became the world's sole superpower after the fall of the Soviet Union. So, the US have held the position for what, 30 years? The British Empire has ruled the world for around 400 years, and held vast amounts of territory across the globe. The US can't even begin to think about comparing itself to it.

I am using them because you need to understand that in America, the minority make the most noise, thus all you hear in other countries about America is about the radicals. First off, the British dominated the entire world for hundreds of years. It was the largest empire. It ushered in industrialization, being amazingly wealthy. It was host to thousands of inventions and was spearheading most of the scientific development of the time. Everybody answered to Britain. Today, the world is dominated by the "bastard child" of Britain. The USA has only been the "world superpower" for a very short amount of time. It isn't impressive compared to the "world powers" of old, like China, Mongolia and the Romans. It has not made any real notable achievements.

The Americans solely base all of their prestige off of being the "land of the free". America was founded by slave owners who wanted to be free. It was very late to the part of the whole, you know, "banning slavery thing"? Let alone civil rights. It has been a nation of hypocrites since it's founding. At least other world superpowers don't pride themselves on things that they are so blatantly good at violating.

If you want to base the "greatness" of a nation solely off of military history, why are you only mentioning three tiny wars? If I recall correctly, the USA lost the Vietnam war, which would instantly make the Americans shit. Instead of grading it by one or two wars, how about all of them?
