People who speak Spanish make up less than <.1% of the population, more people speak Punjabi than Spanish. Our immigrants lately have started to come form the U.S. and Europe since Canada has one of the few stable economies in the world.

I was speaking of Toronto specifically, both Portuguese and Spanish have a fairly large number, not in percentages of course.

Of course my american neighbour , in sociology class or history we always talked about the "aaarrr those pesky "United Estateans" calling themselves Americans, damn that Monroe doctrine bla bla bla etc" sometimes. I said it that way because it the commonly accepted way of talking about US.

EDIT: commonly accepted way=the adjective "American", not my silly rant.

I had this argument about the "americans up in the USA". We are called that because we were the first country on the american continents to put "America" in out name. Then Europe and all other countries called our people "americans" for short.

    I am an American.

That's quite amusing, considering all of my family, and I mean, every person involved in my lineage, was born in Europe. However, nobody should really call you an 'American' if you were born in the United States. It's simply in the name of your country, you are the United States of America. You are of America, the Continent, there is no country named 'America', only a country named after America.

Untrue, the biggest number of immigrants in Brazil are Portuguese and Japanese, germans are just a very small percentage in here, in the south though ( where I live) there's a lot of slavs, that is, Polish, Ukrainian and some Germans. I myself came from a noble Portuguese bloodline + Polish and German immigrants.

There are actully a lot of Argentineans in this area of Canada. I have hung out with them plenty of times because some of them are friends of my German friends here. Also I wouldn't mind moving there, from what I hear the women are pretty nice.

You can thank ODESSA for that one, assuming you are silly enough to believe they exist (and obviously don't forget yuri2045's above comment).

Why would I kill my countryman, and be a noble nazi at the same time? The Kaiser disagrees with you.

Trust me, this was not the worst thread that derailed from it's original topic, I've seen far worse.
