What are your thoughts and opinions about it? Is it wrong to help someone end their life to relieve their pain, and where would you set the limit? Should mental pain, etc depression be considered such a pain aswell?

My opinion is not all settled. I know for certain that I do not think anyone should be allowed to commit suicide and definitely not recieve help to do so because of a psychologically dark/painful period in their life. I do however think somebody who is in great physical pain and has no possible cure should, by strict rules, be allowed to decide to end their life to find peace in death.

Well, I'm all for euthanasia for the terminally ill. Not only will it save him/her and the rest of the family the pain and suffering of a slow death, it'll also free up space in hospitals and all that good stuff.

Im all for it because isn't it there right to choose when and if they die and not suffer at the hands of there disease. To deny them is the ultimate form of oppression of freedom to rob someone of the control and freedom of the body. So say yes to Euthanasia, also it frees up hospitals and now the family is save in the knowledge that there loved one is free from the suffering they have gone through.

But really its all a matter of ethics in the terms of right to live or right to choose, I have a very Liberal/Idealism Philosophy on the entire debate of Euthanasia.

I think "The right to end your life" is very weird because when you do that, don't you end all of your rights and obligations you had in life? Isn't it a bit of a hypocrytic right, if I may say so?

Hmm a very different way of looking at it, tough im looking at it from a point of view of euthanasia is a way to get out of the pain of a disease in which you have, if you hit the point where euthanasia is a far better option then fighting on, then you hit the point where your obligations no longer matter cause you can no longer attend to them and support them. By this point i fully support the right for Euthanasia.

I could just see Insurance companies telling their Cancer patients to kill themselves or pay massive costs (ie. their child's college fund).

Killing yourself, or helping someone kill them-self, is generally a bad idea.

And why do we need all these fancy euthanasia things? If you're that desperate you can get your hands dirty and do it yourself. It's not like everything is justified more simply because society says so.
