I nominated for the job of Tribune. This is not because I want the buttons, this is not because I want the power, this is not because I want the people to have the power, but this is because I feel that I will do things different than others. (Also, keep in mind I'm Dutch, so some grammar will look silly. I hope and ask you not to judge my grammar, but my campaign.) First of all, I would like to show you what I mean. Some people base their whole campaign on "Transparency". In a recent poll, (literary) 8 out of 2 people said that "Effectiveness to the staff" is more important than "Transparency of staff decisions". My conclusion is that people feel all the so-called "Transparency" kind of kills the whole effectiveness. Again, this is my conclusion, feel free to disagree. Then, there are the ones who just like the buttons, or the ones who see this whole thing as a joke, or a popularity contest. I will not call any names, but you'll know who I mean. Those people are mostly the people claiming that the last few Tribunes were worthless and did not do anything. As of what I hear, these claims are false. The Tribunes did their jobs, only people expected more. I can and will not guarantee I will give you all that you ask, and I think it's stupid others do. While I keep talking about what I won't do, I will now talk about what I will do: 1) I will keep the forums organised, and clean. I can't say that I am a organised person (take a look at my room and you'll get what I mean). I will try to keep the forums clean, and spare the mods as much of the "less important" work. I will do this with care, and I will lock the dead topics. 2) I will try to make the Tribune elections fair and just. As I said, the Tribune elections have become a kind of popularity contest, and if I will be elected as the next Tribune, I will work with the mods to renew the rules and make sure only the people who are serious and fair will be able to run for the title. 3) I will stay in contact with the people, but won't overdo it. A lot of nominees say they will stay in contact with the community as much as they can, and will only approve or disapprove after a poll. Personally, I think that is: A) Impossible, you cannot keep a poll for every little thing. B) Unfair, some things are meant to be just for the mods. Otherwise, we might as well have no mods at all. I will, however, have a poll about the big things I will address, and if I want advice, there will also be a big chance I come to you. However, if a mod addresses an issue, I will not discuss about it with the people, because privacy is not invented without reason. Also, if I ask advice, I do not ask others to decide for me. Advice can be freely ignored. I will only do something, if I'm behind it myself. I hope you understand. 4) I will try to make the site more interactive. To be honest, as I am new, I do not know the little details of the site. For example, I do not know whoever manages the NKVD YouTube channel (I'd guess Redbullk1d?). Nevertheless, I will try to make the site more interactive. For example, I will offer the mods a new section on the forums for the YouTube channel. I will (this is stolen from ComradeLer) discuss with the mods for a LiveStream managed by the same guys. If I get more ideas, I will look into the possibilities, make a plan, take initiative, and execute the plan with, you guessed it, consultation with the mods. 5) I will accept ideas, but only if I agree. I will listen to as many ideas as I possibly can, and I will try to contact people for more insight in their ideas. Every idea is a good idea, as long as it's meant to help people. If you send me a PM, I will read carefully, look into the possibilities, contact you back, and if there is nothing I can do for you, I will still sit down and talk to you about good alternatives. If we can't find anything, too bad. I'm not a miracle worker. But if you have a reasonable offer or some constructive criticism, I would like to listen to it and try to solve it. Also, if you completely disagree with me, and won't vote for me or nominate me, please vote ComradeLer, as he is the only one with a kind of plan. I wished I wouldn't be needed in this election, I really did. But as I said multiple times before, this started out to become a popularity contest, and if there is anything I really hate, it would be popularity contests. So nominate or vote for me, and I will do my best to help you. But if you don't vote for me, please find someone else who has a plan, and do not vote for those transparency-idiots trying to ruin the contest. It has started to become normal to nominate yourself without having any idea what you want to accomplish, and I pity. I want to thank you for reading, and I hope that you stand with me.
Does that mean you are going to vote or me? :-P But seriously, my account exists longer, but I just came to reply on stuff this weekend.
(Sorry for double posting, I just want people to read this) Can you guys give me some kind of feedback? What do you think of my plan?
Well, too bad I was a few f*ing hours too late, 'cause all of the nominations were already taken. More reasons to reform and restructure. Anyway, I've got a little plan in my head as reform for the election, and I will present it to the mods via PM instead.
I could also do that, indeed. I look at whoever I will present my plans later, when I've got this thing written down. If I get my plan, it'll be a matter of whether or not it's a good plan if it gets accepted, not if I can present it.
"Een goeie meid, is op alles voorbereid!" or, in English: "A good maid, is at everything frontprepared!" (Hm... I should check my grammar...)
Did you actually just literally translate every part of the words, because I'm pretty sure "frontprepared" isn't a word. Anyway, I just saw the voting thread, and noticed you weren't in the poll, which is a shame, because your plan looked quite good. Better luck next time, I guess...
I know it's not a word. It was kind of a parody of the bad English a lot of Dutchies speak. For example: my uncle one time, was in London in a cab, and his friend told the cab driver: "We want to go to heaven." while he wanted to go to the docks. But the reason I wasn't in the poll, is because I wasn't nominated by anyone except myself. If a few people'd nominate me, I would be in the poll.
This was the nomination thread. -_-' I know it's a bit unclear, but that's even more reason for the reforms to be passed.
Agreed, I think I read somewhere else that the nominations would be in a different thread... Also, have you noticed we're pretty much having 3 or 4 conversations on the forums because we're pretty much the only ones awake at this moment?
Yeah, stupid fucking time zones. I miss a lot of stuff because of the time difference, and me being asleep while the others bespam (if that's a word) the whole forums.
